we are recruiting for new Members to join our Young Professionals Advisory Board!
The purpose of this Board is to create a unique opportunity for young people regardless of their economic status. We know that many programs can be inaccessible for the younger generations due to cost. We wanted to change that.
Our Communications Manager, Katie Dyas, is a millennial who really wanted to hone in on the passion of younger people for causes that they care about. “I have actually looked into joining other non-profit Boards or young professional Boards myself and my biggest barrier was not the time dedication or even the passion for a specific cause - it all came down to the annual fees. I simply can’t afford it.”
We believe that philanthropy comes in many different forms. The majority of philanthropy that we see - on our screens and in the news - is focused solely on donating money. We wanted to change that for our own organization and respond to the economic situation of Millenials and Gen Z’s. And thus, the Young Professionals Advisory Board was created.

Anyone between 18-35 years old (as of Jan. 1, 2024)
People who are committed to advancing the non-profit sector, specifically the global health sector, as well as women's empowerment
Someone who is willing to commit a minimum of 2 hours per month to OHW - we have a monthly meeting for all members
Someone who is able to commit to the position for a minimum of 1 year
*This is open to anyone regardless of education level, geographic location (you may be located outside of the U.S.), or economic status. As long as you are willing to commit your time to our cause, you qualify!

All members will have a meaningful and direct impact on OHW programs and maternal health outcomes in Nepal
Professional development
Learn the mechanisms of non-profit fundraising and management
Opportunities for exclusive professional development sessions with OHW Board members and OHW staff
Network professionally with their peers and gain new friends
Gain valuable leadership and team experience in a diverse setting
Advance your career by joining a board related to your line of work OR it can open the door to a career in a different field for those who are looking to make a switch
Will receive an OHW branding package once per year
All members will be featured on our social media through social media takeovers and other campaigns

Attend our monthly meetings and contribute ideas to aid in expanding our reach - both online and offline
Each member will get their own fundraising page that they can brand in collaboration with OHW (or we will provide branding for them)
They will be responsible to share their fundraising page during a minimum of TWO campaigns throughout the year (There are 5 opportunities to do this!)
Become a monthly donor to OHW OR acquire a new monthly donor for OHW (can be as little as $5/month)
Willing to share about OHW on their personal social media and to other offline contacts
